Police Make 2nd Arrest in Bridgeport Cold Case Homicide

Bridgeport police have arrested the second suspect in 2007 cold case homicide.

Garrett Bostick, 29, of Bridgeport was arrested at his parole office on Tuesday, according to police.

He’s charged with murder and conspiracy to commit murder in connection with a fatal shooting at the Charles F. Greene Homes housing complex on Feb. 27, 2007. The victim, Juan Marcano, was shot twice in the back and died from complications in April 2007, police said.

Bostick is being held on a $250,000 bond.

Last month, police arrested another suspect, 29-year-old Nirone Hutton, who they say was Bostick’s accomplice. Hutton is charged with murder, criminal possession of a firearm by a felon and carrying a pistol without a permit. His bond was set at $750,000.

The U.S. Marshals Task Force arrested Bostick on unrelated charges the day after the 2007 homicide. During the arrest, authorities seized narcotics and a handgun from an apartment in the Charles F. Greene complex, police said.

Two slugs found in Marcano’s back were linked to the gun seized during Bostick’s arrest, police said. Detectives obtained additional information in July 2013 that ultimately led to the arrests of Hutton and Bostick.

The warrant for Bostick’s arrest was signed Oct. 31, according to police.

Police said they believe that during the incident, Marcano was lured into the building, where he got into a fight and was subsequently shot.
