Police Release Clues that Could Help Solve Robbery

Wethersfield Police are asking for the public's help in finding the man who followed a woman home and robbed her at gunpoint.

Authorities are asking for the public's help in finding the man who followed a Wethersfield woman home from the grocery store and robbed her at her home.

Wethersfield police have released surveillance photos of a white Chrysler 300 they say the suspect was driving with CT marker plates on the front and rear.

Police want the public to take note of an object or an EZPass affixed to the windshield just below the rear view mirror.

The woman called police at 10:52 a.m. on Friday to report the robbery.

She said a man followed her from Stop & Shop on Town Line Road in Rocky Hill to her home on Pine Lane in Wethersfield and robbed her in the garage when she got out of her car. The woman was not injured, police said, money and her debit card were stolen.

The man is 35 to 40 years old, 6-feet tall with a slender build. He was wearing a black T-shirt and blue jeans and might have been holding the gun in his left hand.

The incident has some shoppers on high alert.

"Awareness, you have to be aware of your surroundings and other people, pay attention," said Dom Perito.

Police are looking for any information or tips.

Anyone with information or who saw the man and vehicle at the Stop & Shop in Rocky Hill during the morning on June 22 is asked to call the Wethersfield Police Department at (860) 721-2900.
