Police ID Woman Found Dead in Newington Home

They said they believe her husband is the suspect.

A 46-year-old woman was found dead in her Newington home Thursday morning and police are considering her husband a suspect in the homicide.

Police found the body of 46-year-old Patricia Torbicki at 52 Gilbert Road around 9 a.m. Thursday after receiving a 911 call from a neighbor who was taking a walk with her grandson and said a woman who was covered in blood, lying in the doorway. The caller said the woman appeared to be dead.

As a precaution, police told neighbors to shelter in place as they began investigating.

Police later found Patricia Torbicki’s husband, 45-year-old Michael Torbicki, with serious injuries inside the home and he was transported to a local hospital, where he remains in serious condition.

The medical examiner determined that Patricia Torbicki died of gunshot wounds to her head and lower extremities. Her death has been ruled a homicide.

Michael Torbicki is being considered a suspect, according to police.
