Beer Pong Bet Led to Four-Story Fall: Friends

A 24-year-old man was critically injured after falling from a window.

Police have arrested two men after a 24-year-old Stratford man fell from a fourth floor window of a Naugatuck and the victim's friends said he fell through the window during a fight over a game of beer pong.    

Police responded to 8 Pond St, a four-story multifamily house, at 2:27 a.m. on Wednesday and found Saloman Martinez, 24, of Stratford, on the ground, suffering from serious head and body injuries, police said.

Investigators said it appeared that Martinez had fallen from a window on the fourth floor down to the sidewalk below.

Friends said they were at a party and Martinez was kicked into the glass.

"It was over beer pong," Martinez's friend, Liz Dana, said. "A bet in beer pong."

Martinez was transported to Waterbury Hospital, where he is listed in critical condition. Family said one side of Martinez's face and all of his ribs are broken.

On Thursday, police arrested Matthew Chandler and Kyle Gonzalez, both 20, in connection with Martinez's injuries.

Both men are charged with assault in th first-degree and conspiracy to assault in the first degree.

Gonzalez is also facing charges connected to a second assault at the house.

Naugatuck Police Detectives and Connecticut the State Police Major Crime unit are investigating.
