Suspected Cumberland Farms Robber Arrested

Police have arrested a suspect in a robbery at the Cumberland Farms convenience store in North Grosvenordale earlier this month.

State police have charged Sarah Brown, 23, of Market Street in North Grosvenordale.

State Police responded to the store after receiving a 911 phone call at 11:30 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 14, reporting the store was just robbed.

Witnesses reported that the robber entered the store wearing a brown jacket with the hood pulled up, blue jeans, sneakers and a white cloth covering his or her face.

The robber claimed to have a gun and demanded money and cigarettes from the store clerk, police said.

No one was injured and aside from the clerk, no one else was in the store at the time.

Police obtained an arrest warrant on Tuesday charging Brown with robbery in the first degree, larceny in the sixth degree and false statement in the second degree.

She was presented in Danielson Superior Court with a set bond of $1,0000 cash or surety. No more arrests are expected.
