New London police are searching for a group of people who broke into a home on Prest Street and attacked the residents on New Year's Eve.
Police said they received a call just before 11:30 p.m. from a person at L+M Hospital reporting a home invasion at 7 Prest St. Investigators say that two or three attackers forced their way into an apartment when the occupants opened the door.
One attacker struck a victim on the head, causing non-life-threatening injury, police said. The attackers then tied up the three people in the home, threatened and robbed them.
Police said the attack does not appear random.
