Police Seek Witnesses to Deadly Crash

The driver sped away from police before hitting and killing a teen on a bicycle, police said.

Authorities are looking for witnesses to a crash that killed a bicyclist in Manchester Sunday.

An officer saw Jonathan Feliz, 24, of Manchester, speeding on Hartford Road around 1 a.m. and attempted to stop him, but Feliz made a quick turn down Waddell Road, and then turned onto Bunce Drive, where he struck a parked vehicle, police said.

Feliz turned back onto Hartford Road and McKee Street and struck Steven Henry, 18, of East Hartford, who was riding a bicycle in the area, police said.

The 2009 Subaru then rolled over several times and struck a gas pump at the Mobil Gas Station.

Henry was pronounced dead at the hospital. Feliz had to be extricated from the car, and remains in critical condition at St. Francis Hospital.

The Metro Traffic Services regional unit is investigating the crash. Authorities are asking anyone who may have seen Feliz's car before the accident to call them at 860-648-6211.
