The man police called a person of interest in triple slayings in East Hartford was taken to the police department on Thursday based on a search and seizure warrant on him.
Police obtained a search and seizure warrant for Brett Bednarz on Thursday and brought him to the East Hartford Police Department. He was later released to police in Manchester, the town in which he lives, on drug charges.
Brett Bednarz is the son of Beverly Therrien, 74, who was found dead in her 154 Naomi Drive home in East Hartford on Thanksgiving morning.
She and her caregivers -- Pamela Johns, 60, and Michael Ramsey, 53 -- has been killed. All three died of blunt force trauma to the head, according to the medical examiner.
On Dec. 1, police searched the Manchester home Bednarz and his sister, Candace Bednarz, 52, share and said they found “suspected marijuana.”
Lt. Curt Stoldt told the Hartford Courant that Bednarz cooperated as evidence was collected from him and he was released to Manchester police, who charged him with possession of marijuana based on evidence police said they found during an earlier search of the home.
