Power Restored in Middletown

No electricity didn't help thousands trying to keep cool in the sweltering heat.

More than 9,600 Connecticut Light & Power customers were without power in Middletown Tuesday evening.

A sub station failed on the western part of Middletown possibly due to the heat and high demand for power to cool off, according to CL & P spokesperson, Mitch Gross.

The outages left many to find something other than air conditioning to help cool off with temperatures hovering around 90 degrees.
