Prostitute Nabbed for Watch Theft

Police in Stamford said they arrested one prostitute and are searching for another who are accused of stealing two designer watches from a man who hired them.

The watches, made by Swiss watch company Patek Philippe, were worth $52,000, according to the Stamford Advocate,

Samantha Hansen, 23, originally from Illinois, stole the watches with another prostitute, by distracting Xiao Xu, 42, during their encounter back in May, police said.

Stamford Police Sgt. Peter diSpagna said Xu started running after the women once he realized they had his watches and was dragged behind their car as they sped away.

Xu, who was charged with patronizing a prostitute, managed to get the car's license plate.  Officers used that to trace the car back to Hansen. She was arrested in a Philadelphia hotel after Xu identified her.

Hansen faces larceny, prostitution and assault charges.  Police are still trying to find out the identity of the other prostitute.
