Prostitution Arrest at Clinton Massage Parlor

Police raided the business after a six-month investigation.

Clinton Police and State Police broke up an alleged prostitution operation working out of a Clinton massage parlor.

Authorities conducted a six-month investigation into Jade Massage Therapy at 3 Post Office Square, after receiving numerous complaints than men were showing up at the business and engaging in sex with the female employees inside.

During the months-long investigation, police used surveillance and talked to witnesses and determined that most of the clients were men from out of town, and almost all of them were involved in the illicit activity, according to investigators.

The owner of Jade Massage Therapy, which was also known as 888 Massage, is from Flushing, New York, and does hold a Connecticut massage license, but is not at the business on a regular basis, police said. The employees, who were all from New York, did not have massage licenses, according to authorities.

Police served a search warrant on the massage parlor Thursday, and arrested 39-year-old Yan Qin. She is facing prostitution charges. Yan is not a licensed massage therapist, police said.

Investigators seized business records, notes, computers, advertising materials, lotions and oils from the establishment.

Police said they expect to make more arrests.

The Clinton Department of Zoning and the Connecticut River Area Health district are also investigating.
