Water has been restored after an 8-inch water main broke in West Hartford around 5 a.m. on Thursday.
The main broke on Simsbury Road, or Route 185, which led to some road closures and buckling of the road at Tumblebrook Lane.
Water was shut down to an 8-inch water main on Tumblebrook Lane, from King Phillip Road to Simsbury Road that was installed in 1954, and a 12-inch water main on Simsbury Road from 257 Simsbury Road to King Edward Road, which was installed in 1957. The water was restored as of 10 a.m.
Three single-family homes near the intersection of Simsbury Road and Tumblebrook Lane were affected.
