Report: Man Stole From Stamford Fire Victim

The theft reportedly happened 2 weeks before Lomer Johnson's Death.

A Newtown man has been charged with stealing the debit card of an elderly man killed in a Christmas morning fire in Stamford.

The Republican-American reports that Raymond Page Jr., 37, took the debit card of Lomer Johnson, 71, just two weeks before the fire that killed him, his wife, and his three granddaughters.

Police said Page used the card to buy nearly $300 worth of goods.

He’s charged with credit card theft, illegal use of a credit card and larceny. He posted $10,000 bail and is expected to be arraigned March 8. It’s unclear if he has a lawyer.
