Roof Collapses at Wallingford Facility Storing Solar Electric Equipment

Emergency crews were called to the scene of a partial roof collapse in Wallingford on Monday morning at a facility storing electrical equipment for a local manufacturing distributor, according to the fire department.

Wallingford fire officials said employees of the facility at 801 North Main Street Extension noticed the collapse around 7:15 a.m. Monday and called the fire department.

The Wallingford fire chief arrived alongside two fire engines, a ladder an ambulance and a building inspector, according to the fire department.

Damage was confined to a unit housing solar electric equipment for CED Wallingford. Fire officials said the damage was minimal and no one was hurt.

The building is intact but the company utilizing the affected space is moving its inventory out until the roof can be repaired, according to firefighters.
