South Windsor Man Killed in Crash Day Before His 24th Birthday

A South Windsor man was killed in a crash in Windsor Monday, the day before what would have been his 24th birthday.

The crash was on Route 20 outbound in Windsor at Route 75, near Bradley Airport, just after 4 p.m., according to police.

Police said the driver, Kyle Timothy Puttin, 28, of South Windsor, was traveling eastbound on Route 20 near Route 75 in Windsor when he lost control of his vehicle.

Police said he veered off the right shoulder and up the grassy embankment before striking a tree and was pronounced dead at the scene.

The road reopened at 8:45 p.m.

The investigation is ongoing.
