Rudy Falls 5 Pounds Short of Biggest Loser Title

Brooklyn’s Rudy Pauls has reason to celebrate, even though he’s not  NBC's "The Biggest Loser."  Despite a 234 pound weight loss, David Cahill took home the title with his 239 pound weight loss.  Still, fans at home in Connecticut say Pauls is Brooklyn’s biggest loser and that’s plenty of reason to cheer.

Dozens of people crowded into Hanks Restaurant to watch the show’s finale together.  There’s no question the small town has a big heart for their hometown hero.

“He’s just great.  He’s lost all this weight.  I give him all the credit in the world,” said Alice Comcois of Brooklyn.

Pauls started the show weighing a whopping 442 pounds.  He got on the scale one last time 234 pounds lighter, now half the man he once was.

“He’s got a lot to be grateful for.  He’ll be thrilled with himself despite the outcome,” said Lin Lacharite of Brooklyn.

His weight loss story inspired the small town and encouraged many to dedicate themselves to a healthier lifestyle. Not to mention the fact that it drew the national spotlight to Brooklyn, Connecticut, now the proud hometown of "The Biggest Loser’s" 2nd loser, Rudy Pauls!

“He’s definitely inspiring to be that big and to be able to lose the weight. That’s intense and awesome,” said Judy LaRoche of Killingly.
