Environmental Conservation Police have arrested two teens in connection with vandalism at construction trailers at Milford's Silver Sands State Park in March.

On March 24, 2019, the Milford Fire Department and EnCon police responded and found fire in two metal storage containers at the park. Firefighters put out the flames and discovered vandalism.

The suspects have been identified as 18-year-old Chris Sakowicz and 18-year-old Vincent Keller. They were charged with criminal trespass, criminal mischief, larceny, criminal attempt to commit criminal mischief. Sakowicz was also charged with removing and/or obliterating manufactures serial numbers.

The suspects are also accused of setting other fires, one that destroyed Stratford’s Shakespeare Theatre, and another at an abandoned building in Southbury.

The teens have not been charged in the fire that destroyed three buildings under construction at Silver Sands State Park on Tuesday, March 19. That case remains under investigation, and authorities said at this time they have not connected the two cases.
