Saturday is Drug Take-Back Day

Dozens of police departments across the state are participating.

Saturday is National Prescription Drug Take-Back Day and several communities in Connecticut are participating.

The Drug Enforcement Administration scheduled the event for people to safely dispose of unwanted, unused prescription drugs.

It runs from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, April 28.

Dozens of police departments, from Bethlehem to Plainfield and Ellington to Greenwich, are participating, including state police and resident troopers’ offices.

The full list is posted on the DEA Office of Diversion Control’s National Take Back Initiative Collection Website.

Police in South Windsor said prescription and non-prescription drugs will be accepted, but no needles.

Middletown Police said their event is being held on the upper level, in room 19. To get there, use the first door on the right after getting off the elevator.
