The ad for Babe says he is as “cute as a button,” gentle and laid-back. He was taken from All Pets Club in Wallingford on Monday night and the store is reaching out for help to find the pup.
Police believe two men are responsible for the theft of the two-and-a-half-month-old PekeChon -- Pekingese/bichon/maltese.
The dog, on sale for almost $1,000, disappeared just before 6 p.m., according to the pet shop.
In 2010, someone stole Duke, a Shih Tzu, from the All Pets Club in Branford, and a couple returned the puppy safely.
They had bought Duke on the street in West Hartford from a woman. They said she approached them and asked if they wanted to buy Duke for $30, far less than the $1,000 he would have commanded at the pet store.
