    Woman Killed on Crash on Route 44 in Norfolk

    Two people were taken to the hospital after a serious crash on Route 44 in Norfolk Tuesday night and state police said one of the drivers who was injured has died.

    Two people were taken to the hospital after a serious crash on Route 44 in Norfolk Tuesday night and state police said one of the drivers who was injured has died.

    Two cars, a Honda CR-V and a Hyundai Elantra, crashed on Route 44 at Route 182, near George’s Garage, at 10:11 p.m.

    State police said both drivers were transported to Charlotte Hungerford Hospital and the driver of the Hyundai, 65-year-old Susan Hancock, a resident of the village of Riverton in Barkhamsted, died.

    Officials warned that roads were slick and ice covered at the time of the crash.
