New Jersey Man Killed in Crash on Merritt Parkway in Norwalk

A 75-year-old New Jersey man is dead after his vehicle hit a tree along the Merritt Parkway in Norwalk Wednesday morning and flipped over.

Police said 75-year-old Robert Bearden, of Florham Park, New Jersey, was driving a Toyota Camry that went off the road on Route 15 South, near the exit 41 ramp, just before 10:30 a.m.

Bearden hit a tree and his car flipped over. Police said he was transported to the hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.

The road was dry, but there were some wet patches from melting snow at the time of the crash.
