Storms Bring Gusty Winds to State

A line of strong thunderstorms weakened across the state Thursday afternoon after bringing lightning and gusty winds to some towns.

Severe thunderstorm warnings were cancelled as of 7:30 p.m.

The storms knocked down a few trees in the state according to the National Weather Service. Trees were reported down in Morris and Norfolk. Several hundred power outages were reported by Eversource.

This comes just 24 hours after thunderstorms dumped several inches of rain in parts of Connecticut, flooding streets and some basements.
