Shelton Police Arrest Second Suspect in Home Invasion

Shelton police have arrested a second suspect in a Jan. 8 home invasion at a house on Quaker Ridge Road that authorities said was being used as a marijuana growing operation.

Oscar Rosado, 32, of Bridgeport, was arrested on Wednesday and charged with home invasion, first-degree robbery, first-degree conspiracy to commit robbery, second-degree unlawful restraint and second-degree conspiracy to commit unlawful restraint.

Bond was set at $250,000 and he was processed on outstanding failure to appear warrants for unrelated charges, police said.  

Police previously arrested Francisco Colon-Cotto, 23, of Bridgeport and charged him with home invasion, first-degree robbery, conspiracy to commit home invasion, conspiracy to commit robbery, second-degree unlawful restraint and conspiracy to commit unlawful restraint.

The charges stem from a home invasion that was reported to police on Jan 8. 

The resident reported that the intruders entered his home through an open door, went into his bedroom, tied him up and stole jewery and a cell phone. 

The resident was later arrested when police found a marijuana growing operation.
