Police Release Photo of Possible Suspect

Aurang Zaib Sahi was shot in a Manchester convenience store.

Manchester Police released a new surveillance photo on Monday night of a man they call a possible suspect in the killing of a convenience store clerk.

Earlier in the day, police released other surveillance photos from inside a convenience store where the clerk, Aurang Zaib Sahi, 32, was killed on Sunday evening.

Manchester police said they had spoken to one of two people considered persons of interest.

Sahi was shot at the Super Convenience Store at 469 Hartford Road around 6:10 p.m. and died at 9:30 a.m. on Monday.

A customer called 911 after walking into the store and discovering that Sahi had been shot, police said.

"The witness reported seeing a suspect flee down McKee Street," said Lt. Chris Davis of Manchester Police."So officers set up a perimeter."

Police searched in Dumpsters, checked surveillance video and surrounded a home on West Center Street. Witnesses said they saw several people being handcuffed.

No suspects had been arrested as of Monday afternoon. Police said they do not know the motive but do not believe this is a random act.

Several surrounding departments were called in to help with the investigation.

The family who owns the store said customers call the clerk "Buddy." The Journal Inquirer reports that Sahi was related to the family who owns the store and it appeared the clerk had been shot in the head.

"To hear that they rushed him to the hospital, knowing that his wife is pregnant, his daughter just had a birthday, it's really sad," regular customer Lori Jackson said.
