Shots Fired at News Crew

The crew was reporting on an earlier shooting.

As an NBC Connecticut news crew was reporting on a shooting at a market in New Haven on Monday evening, bullets just missed their marked news van.

The crew was parked outside Cerda's Market, at Sheldon and Starr in New Haven, where shots were fired inside earlier, when they heard a gunshot, then three more gunshots.

They said they saw a man aiming a gun at from Sheldon and Thompson, about one block away.

The news crew said the man then ran off, but police found a weapon, shell casings and a bullet that was lodged in the rear of another car that was traveling north on Sheldon. No one was hurt.

No arrests have been made and police are searching for suspects in both incidents.
