A 12-year-old Hamden girl who was missing after taking her mother’s car and leaving home with her 9-year-old sister has been found, according to police, who said the 9-year-old returned home last night.
Police responded to the family’s home on Windsor Road around 7 p.m. to take a missing person report and determined that the 12-year-old and her 9-year-old sister had left home in their mother’s black 2014 Nissan Altima, police said.
The girls’ mother said the 12-year-old has driven her vehicle in the past.
The 9-year-old was dropped off near her home around 11:50 p.m. Thursday and said her sister had the car was accompanied by three males, according to police.
The 12-year-old is safe and has been reunited with her family, police said.
