Six Shot, Two Dead in Overnight Bridgeport Shootings

Police have identified the six individuals shot in in Bridgeport overnight into Sunday and are investigating two homides and whether two of the three shootings are related.

The shootings happened outside a house party on Pitt Street, at the William Street and Barnum Avenue intersection and in a home on Pearl Street.

Just after midnight, the hosts of a large house party at 170 Pitt St. called to ask police for help breaking it up, police said in a news release. Gunshots were fired as police arrived and three people were wounded near the Pitt Street and Indian Avenue intersection, according to police,

Police identified Najees Abraham, Michael Allison and Jamiel Thompson as the three people shot outside the house party, police said. They were taken to St. Vincent's Medical Center in Bridgeport to be treated for non-life threatening injuries. Police said that "the victims have not been cooperative" on providing details about how they were injured or descriptions of the shooting suspect(s). The department asks anyone with information to contact Det. Vincent Lariccia at 203-581-5229. 

Police found Abraham Davidson, 23, shot at the intersection of William Street and Barnum Avenue after responding at 2:30 a.m. on Sunday, according to the news release. The man was out drinking with friends and his brother, who were with him on the sidewalk near the intersection and heard gunfire after he walked away from them, police said. Davidson's friends and brother did not see a gunman or gunmen, according to police. Police ask anyone with information to contact Det. Robert Winkler at 203-581-5224. 

Witnesses told poice that Davidson was at the Pitt Street house party that police broke up earlier in the evening where Abraham, Allison and Thompson weere shot. Police said they are investigating whether the shootings are related.

Davidson was taken to Bridgeport Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

At 3:36 a.m., police responded to a second fatal shooting that stemmed from a domestic incident. Police arrested Jose Santiago, 37, on charges of shooting and killing his longtime girlfriend Kiromy Fontanez, 24, at 344 Pearl St., police said. Santiago also shot Jorge Jimenez, the boyfriend of the victim's mother, in the leg when he tried to intervene in the altercation, police said. The woman's mother and 5-year-old child were in the home at the time of the shooting, according to police.

Police said they apprehended Santiago in the back of a taxi on Stillman Street en route to New Britain. He was barefoot and had a bloody head at the time of the arrest, according to police. Santiago later confessed to the crime and face charges of murder and first-degree assault.
