Soccer Team Honors Bus Driver Who Kept Them Safe

A school bus driver has been named as an honorary member of the JV soccer team at the Forman School in Litchfield. It was a way to honor him after keeping the team safe when a windstorm brought a tree limb down on the bus last week.

Nicholas Frost was driving the team to a match in New York last week when a strong gust of wind snapped off a tree limb, which slammed it into the windshield of the bus.

Instead of slamming on the brakes or swerving off the highway, Frost used one hand to support the broken windshield and the other to drive the bus safely to the side of the road.

None of the 24 student-athletes on the bus was seriously injured. So, as a token of their appreciation, Frost was honored Friday morning before the entire student body of the school.

Not only was he named as an honorary member of the team, he was given both 'home' and 'away' jerseys with his name across the back and a framed letter of appreciation.

Frost has been driving for the bus company, All-Star Transportation, for less than a year.
