Socialite Accused With Stealing Another Scarf

Beata Boman has been charged with stealing a $700 scarf days before allegedly stealing one worth $11,000.

The New York socialite who was already charged with stealing an $11,000 scarf in Greenwich has been arrested again, accused of stealing another scarf from the same store.

Beata Boman, a 38-year-old Polish-born self-described former model and fashion designer, is accused of stealing a Loro Piana scarf valued at $725 from Richards of Greenwich on June 11.

A security guard saw Boman steal the blue scarf, according to a report from Greenwich police, and the theft was captured by surveillance cameras.

Boman turned herself in to Greenwich police on Sunday.

The incident happened just three days before Boman was arrested outside Richards of Greenwich, accused of stealing a fur-lined scarf. When she appeared in court on that charge last month, she said she accidentally walked off with the scarf. Her attorney said she would apply for accelerated rehabilitation, a special program for nonviolent first offenders.

She was charged with larceny and is due in court on Aug. 1 for the most recent charge and Aug. 8 for the prior arrest.
