A Bridgeport man accused of killing his parents after they threatened to cut him out of their wills has pleaded guilty to murder.
Kyle Navin was accused in the deaths of his parents, Jeffrey and Jeanette Navin, of Easton, whose bodies were found in Weston in 2015, two months after they disappeared.
Court documents state the couple was upset about their son's behavior and drug use and planned to cut him out of their wills.
Navin had previously pleaded not guilty and the case was set to go to trial.
In court Monday he pleaded guilty to two counts of murder. His sentencing is scheduled for June 29.
Navin's attorney, Eugene Riccio, said his client could have been convicted of murder under special circumstances, which would have meant a lifetime sentence. By pleading guilty they've agreed to a 55-year sentence.
"I can't really discuss what his personal feelings are. I can just say that this case represents a significant tragedy from many perspectives and involves many people in that aspect. Not only the defendant, but other members of his family," Riccio told NBC Connecticut.

Kyle Navin's girlfriend, Jennifer Valiante, is scheduled to be sentenced Friday, April 27, for her role in the Navin murders. She had pleaded guilty to conspiracy to commit murder and second-degree hindering prosecution. She remains behind bars on a $2 million bond.
