Son of Man Killed in Plainville Crash Turns Himself In

The son of a Plainville man who died after a crash has turned himself in.

Raymond G. Dufour Jr., 27, of Kensington, turned himself in on Thursday afternoon. Police said he was driving while intoxicated and struck a tree on Pearl Street in Plainville at 3:13 a.m. on Nov. 17.

His father, Raymond Dufour Sr., 53, was also in the car. After the crash, he was rushed to the Hartford Hospital Trauma Center, in critical condition and later died.

Police said Raymond G. Dufour Jr.'s blood alcohol concentration was .197, which is more than two times the legal limit. He was charged with manslaughter in the second degree with a motor vehicle while intoxicated, traveling too fast for conditions and failure to drive right in connection.

The Plainville Police Traffic Division is investigating with help from the State's Attorney's office.
