Stamford Man's Death Accidental: Cops

Police continue to investigate trauma found on the victim's body.

A man found dead in his Stamford home died from cardio issues, according to police.

Police responded to 329 Sylvan Knoll Road at 11:30 a.m. on Sunday for a report of a deceased man, who has been identified as Russell Pinto, a resident of the house.

Investigators found several areas of trauma to Pinto’s body.

An autopsy conducted on Tuesday and the state's medical examiner ruled Pinto's death was accidental and that he died of cardio issues.  The medical examiner is awaiting toxicology reports to make a final determination.

The trauma to Pinto's body was not directly responsible for his death, according to the medical examiner.  Stamford police continue to investigate the truama to Pinto's body, police said.
