State Parks and Beaches Fill Up for Fourth of July

The state parks and beaches in Connecticut filled up early on the Fourth of July.

Silver Sands State Park in Milford was full to parking capacity as of 2 p.m. 

Hopeville Pond State Park in Griswold was full to parking as of 12:50 p.m. 

Hammonasset Beach State Park in Madison reached parking capacity at 11:55 a.m.  

Kent Falls State Park in Kent reached parking capacity at 11:50 a.m.

Indian Well State Park in Shelton reached parking capacity as of 11 a.m.

Lighthouse Point park in New Haven reached parking capacity at 11 a.m.

Stratton Brook State Park in Simsbury filled to parking capacity and new vehicles as of 11 a.m.

Rocky Neck State Park in East Lyme reached parking capacity as of 10:15 a.m.

Mount Tom State Park in Litchfield reached parking capacity as of 9:50 a.m.

Quaddick State Park in Thompson reached parking capacity as of 9:45 a.m.

Gardner Lake State Park in Salem reached parking capacity as of 9:30 a.m.

Bigelow Hollow State Park in Union was at parking capacity as of 9:20 a.m.

Miller's Pond State Park in Durham is full to parking capacity as of 9:15 a.m.

Pattaconk Lake State Recreation Area in Chester and Wadsworth Falls State Park in Middletown are full to parking capacity as of 9 a.m.

Squantz Pond State Park in New Fairfield has been full to parking capacity as of 8 a.m.

Burr Pond in Torrington is not full, but there is no swimming there until at least Friday because of bacteria levels.
