Police Investigate Stabbing in Killingworth

A Killingworth man is accused of stabbing a family member after an argument Monday.

Connecticut State Police said troopers were called to a home on Parker Hill Road around 7:50 a.m. after the victim called 911 and said she’d been stabbed. The victim was taken to the hospital for treatment of stab wounds to the lower back and neck. Police said the injuries were serious, but not life-threatening.

The suspect, identified as 18-year-old Paul Karam, was found hiding in the woods behind the home. Investigators also recovered the knife, police said.

Karam was taken to the hospital for an emergency medical health evaluation then arrested. He is charged with criminal attempt to commit murder, first-degree assault, and reckless endangerment.

He was held on a $250,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in court Tuesday.
