State Police Seek “Armed and Dangerous” Stabbing Suspects

State police have arrest warrants for two men wanted in a stabbing that seriously injured a man at a multi-family home in Danielson last week.

Joshua Whittington, 21, and Michael Papineau, 27, are wanted on first-degree assault and first-degree reckless endangerment charges. State police said they should be considered "armed and dangerous" and that police should be cautious if they encounter either of them.

The warrants come after troopers responded to a home near the intersection of Route 6 and Maple Street at about 8:09 p.m. on Dec. 22 after receiving reports that a man bleeding from the head was asking for help, state police said.

The man was seriously injured in an assault and stabbing incident, state police said.

It's possible Whittington and Papineau plan to flee to Cape Code, somewhere in Massachusetts or Ohio, by bus and that they may be trying to get money for tickets, state police said based on tips about comments the suspects have made.

The Eastern District Major Crime Squad was called to the scene to lead the investigation and detective are investigating.

State police ask anyone with information on the suspects to call Troop D state police barracks in Danielson at 860-779-4900.
