Republican Bob Stefanowski is kicking off a statewide tour of Connecticut in the final days of the gubernatorial election.
The Madison businessman announced Thursday he will start his 52-stop, nine-day "Rebuild Connecticut Road Tour" on Saturday.
His first stop is in East Hartford for the UConn homecoming tailgate party.
Stefanowski dismissed criticism that he's shied away from members of the news media, saying "I honestly don't know where that's coming from."
