Stolen Wagons Found, Hay Remains Missing

Hay wagons disappeared in the dark of the night and now, reports the Republican American, two hay-wagons stolen from a Goshen petting zoo and animal sanctuary have been found.

The wagons, valued at $4,500 each, packed with 400 bales of hay, were stolen from Action Wildlife on the night July 18.

The wagons, minus the hay, were recovered on Tuesday in a Torrington field. Ironically, the field is located off Weed Road.

But this does not put an end to the mystery by a long-shot.

There's still the matter of all that hay. It might not sound like that big a deal, but 400 bales of hay works out to about $2,000. No arrests have been made, but investigators are trying to determine if the theft in Goshen might be linked to other unreported hay thefts in the Northwest Corner.
