A high school student in Ansonia is accused of sexually assaulting another student in a dressing room during school hours.
Christian Balaj, 18, has been charged with sexually assaulting a 14-year-old female student inside Ansonia High School Tuesday afternoon towards the end of the school day when both should have been in class, police said.
"Right now we're still investigating exactly how it happened that they both came to be in the dressing room at the same time," Lieutenant Wayne Williams said. “We know that the suspect and victim did know each other prior to this."
Police interviewed the victim and said the encounter was not consensual.
Balaj has been suspended from school for 10 days pending further investigation. School officials said he could face further disciplinary action.
He has posted a $25,000 bond
