A New Britain man suspected of robbing a West Hartford Dunkin’ Donuts on Tuesday and the Gold Roc Diner on Wednesday was arrested after he ran out of gas in Farmington, according to police.
Phiron Noun Mann, 34, of New Britain, was arrested on Wednesday morning.
Police said he is suspected of robbing Dunkin’ Donuts at 1253 New Britain Ave. at 10:21 a.m. Tuesday. Police said Mann threatened patrons and the cashier, demanded money from the register and implied he had a gun before leaving with cash.
He is also suspected in a robbery at Gold Roc Diner. Police said a man with a gun robbed the diner at 3:14 a.m. Wednesday and left with cash from the register.
The description of the robber in both cases was similar and police broadcast the information to area departments.
Later that morning, Farmington Police responded Birdseye Road after receiving a complaint about an unruly motorist and officers determine the man ran out of gas and was throwing an empty gas can at passing motorists.
Farmington police also realized the driver and vehicle matched descriptions from the robberies in West Hartford.

There was an outstanding warrant for Mann, according to police. Officers took him into custody, seized his vehicle and located a BB gun, police said.
Man was charged with two counts of first-degree robbery, two counts of second-degree threatening, carrying a dangerous weapon, weapon in a motor vehicle, fourth-degree larceny, sixth-degree larceny and failure to appear in the first-degree and second degree.
Mann is being held on $208,000 in surety bonds.
