The suspect in two Milford robberies that happened earlier this month has been arrested.
Officers said they were actively investigating two separate robberies with a firearm that happened on October 8 and October 10 in the downtown Milford area. Both were believed to be committed by the same suspect.
According to police, the robbery on October 8 was committed at the People's United Bank drive-up ATM on South Broad Street. The suspect walked up to a vehicle while it was in the drive-thru, pointed a gun at the driver and demanded he take money out of his account and hand it to him. The robbery on October 10 was committed at the Taste of Thai Restaurant, also on South Broad Street. In both incidents, the suspect pointed a black handgun at the victims.
Detectives used surveillance camera footage and were able to identify the suspect as 25-year-old Tasmine Shannonhouse, of Hamden. Officers said they obtained a search warrant and the firearm used in the robberies, later determined to be a BB gun, was found inside of his apartment when he was arrested.
Shannonhouse was charged with two counts of robbery, two counts of larceny and two counts of illegal possession of a firearm. Police also learned that Shannonhouse had an active warrant for his arrest, accusing him of failing to pay a marijuana infraction that he received in Norwalk on February 1, 2014.
He was held on a $200,250 bond for both cases and the warrant. He is scheduled to appear in court in Milford on Monday.
