Suspected Drunken Driver Hit Cruisers in Two Towns: Police

Police in Glastonbury and Middletown arrested a man accused of driving drunk through several towns, early Wednesday morning, leading police on a chase and hitting police cruisers in both towns.

Glastonbury police said they received information from police in Middletown and Cromwell early Wednesday morning that Kwok Chung, 62, of Cromwell, had driven recklessly through their towns.

When Chung arrived in Glastonbury on Route 17, he refused to stop for police and struck a cruiser before police were able to stop him, police said.

Chung was arrested at 1:28 a.m. and charged with DUI, failure to drive right, driving under suspension, engaging police in a pursuit, illegal operation of a motor vehicle without an interlocking device, reckless driving and interfering with an officer.

According to court records, Chung was sentenced for illegal operation of a motor vehicle under the influence in Cromwell on March 25, 2013, and found guilty or illegally operating a motor vehicle under suspension in Windsor on Jan. 27.
