Suspended Teacher Faces Sex Charges

Lawyer calls case he said, she said

Freed on a promise to appear, Aaron Kirby walked past reporters to a waiting car, free of the leg chains he wore in court with a suit.  He had no comment on the charges against him:  fourth degree sexual assault, risk of injury to a minor, and disorderly conduct.

In November, he had been suspended as a track coach and teacher at Manchester High School.  Police say October 30th, a student told a teacher about inappropriate behavior between Kirby and a 15-year-old girl at the school that had begun last spring.

Kirby allegedly touched the girl inappropriately, got her to expose herself, and showed her lewd cellphone pictures of other girls.

"Also, he'd provided a digital camera to the victim to take nude photos of herself," said Manchester Police Lt. Chris Davis.

In court Kirby said nothing as his lawyer convinced Judge Dawn Westbrook to let Kirby walk out without posting bail.  He's due to return to court February 2nd.
