Teen Driver in Crash That Killed 3 Pleads Guilty

The teenage driver of a car that crashed into a pole in Connecticut and burst into flames, killing three people in the back seat, has pleaded guilty.

Jordan Cross pleaded guilty Monday to three counts of first-degree manslaughter in connection with the 2017 crash in Manchester.

The 18-year-old Manchester man faces up to 15 years in prison during his sentencing May 3.

Police say Cross was racing another driver at speeds in excess of 85 mph when he lost control of the car and slammed into the utility pole.

The car was engulfed in flames within seconds, killing 18-year-old William King, 21-year-old Bernaria Mickens and 17-year-old Devon Smith.

Cross did not have a driver's license.

Police have charged the other driver with illegal racing and reckless endangerment.
