A Durham teenager was taken by Lifestar helicopter to St. Francis Hospital after the car he was driving crashed on Sunday afternoon, according to police.
Police said Kevin Mischke, 17, was driving westbound on Route 147, near Miller Road, when he missed a curve and struck two trees, splitting his car in half.
Route 147 in Middlefield was closed for a few hours after the crash.
