Teen Killed in Crash at WCSU

Christopher Reyes had just finished playing basketball with friends, police said.

Classmates of a 17-year-old who was killed in a one-car crash in Danbury gathered at the crash scene Monday to remember him.

Christopher Reyes lost control of his car on University Drive on the campus of Western Connecticut State University around 9:20 p.m. Sunday, according to police. The car drove over the median, hit a rock outcropping and rolled over. Reyes was thrown from the vehicle, police said.

Reyes was on the West Side Campus playing basketball with friends just before the accident, according to police. He was alone in the car when it crashed.

"He was always friendly," said Alicia Brown.  "You could talk to him one time and that one time would just change everything.'

Reyes was a student at Danbury High School. Grief counselors were brought to the school Monday morning.
