Temps Near 100 Monday

There's nothing like a three-day weekend in the middle of the summer, as many spent Monday celebrating the extended Independence Day holiday.

But it was another hot one, with temperatures climbing towards 100 degrees away from the shoreline in Connecticut.  Check out the forecast here.

Anyone looking to beat the heat on Monday by heading to Connecticut's State beaches had to get there early. Hammonasset State Park in Madison, Rocky Neck State Park in East Lyme and Lighthouse Point Park in New Haven were all closed before noon on Monday because they had reached capacity, according to the Department of Transportation.  Kent Falls State Park in Kent, Bigelow Hollow State Park in Union and Millers Pond State Park in Durham also filled up quickly and were closed off in the early afternoon.
