The Bubs Place Second in NBC's “The Sing Off”

It wasn’t all fun and games for Connecticut’s own “bub” Sam Cantor.  He’s one of the youngest Tufts Beelzebub's and star of NBC’s “The Sing Off.”  All week he’s been balancing the show with his college finals.

Even though they didn’t win “The Sing Off” title, friends and family say they are still winners here at home.

“I’m still so proud.  The group is wonderful and Sammy is so cute,” said Rose Granow, Cantor’s grandmother.

Almost 100 people turned out at Cantor’s West Hartford home to watch “The Sing Off” finale Monday night.  The group’s first song, “Where is the love,” ended with a thunderous applause at the house.

But despite the effort, it just wasn’t enough.  It all came down to America’s vote and the a Capella group “Nota” won top honors plus a Sony Music recording contract.

“It’s okay.  He’s still a winner to us.  He comes home Wednesday and I can’t wait to take him out and have some fun.  I miss him a lot,” said Josh Cantor, Sam’s oldest brother.
