Thief Hangs Stolen Wreath on Her Own Door: Cops

A Connecticut woman has been arrested after Westerly police say home-surveillance video caught her stealing a large wreath from someone else's front porch.

Police Chief Ed St. Clair says 46-year-old Christa Bradley, of North Stonington, turned herself in Wednesday after police found the wreath hanging on her front door.

She was charged with larceny under $1,500.

He says she was released and asked to appear Jan. 16. A telephone listing for Bradley could not be found.

Homeowner Mary Sullivan put a video of the theft on Facebook that showed a woman walking up to the homemade wreath and walking off with it.

The video was reposte, and St. Clair says that led to the wreath.

Sullivan's husband, Chris, says if the thief needed a wreath that badly, he would have bought her one.
