Tied Up and Robbed for Jewelry

Three jewelry couriers were tied up and robbed outside an Ellington jewelry store Thursday night.

State police say the three victims were walking into the Gold & Diamond Exchange on West Road, when three armed men robbed them at gunpoint.

The men duct taped the victims hands and forced them into a pickup truck before running away with an undisclosed amount of jewelry.

Police say the victims did not have a chance to walk into the store, and the store was not robbed. The victims were not hurt.

Detectives spent several hours Thursday night searching through cars in the parking lot outside the store for evidence.

Anyone who may have seen anything during the robbery is asked to contact State Police at 1-800-318-7633.
