Three Accused in New Britain Shooting Death

Police have arrested three suspects in a fatal shooting in New Britain in October 2011.

John “Mikey” Martinez, 22, was shot in the area of LaSalle and Wilcox streets in New Britain on Oct. 2, police said. He was dropped off at the Hospital Of Central Connecticut New Britain Campus and was pronounced dead a short time later.

Police have charged Jimmy Rosado, 20, of New Britain, Juan Rivera, 22, of Bristol, and Victor Gonzalez, 24, of New Britain.

Rosado, who has been incarcerated since Jan. 5 on firearms, narcotics, and assault on police charges filed in New Britain. He was in New Britain Superior Court for a scheduled hearing when the warrant was served, police said.

Rosado has been charged with murder–criminal liability for the acts of another and conspiracy to commit murder. He was held on a $1 million bond.

On March 22, police charged Rivera and Gonzalez.

Rosado will be arraigned at the New Britain Superior Court on March 28.
